Sweetening every Filipino's celebrations
Bread & Butter has been delighting people from the province of Aklan with their wide assortment of cakes, pastries and bread since 1985. From a simple bakery, they have expanded across the region of Panay—the fourth most populous island in the Philippines.
Influx of bakeshops
Bread & Butter faced some strong competition with the entry of well-known, established brands from urban areas. They sought Bluethumb’s help to convey their strength and reiterate their years of experience through a mouth-watering identity.
The tradition of pasalubong
We worked around the idea that positioned Bread & Butter as an important part of Filipino celebrations through the culture of pasalubong—the tradition of bringing home gifts to share with loved ones. For this, we designed the logo, store and other visual materials around the feelings of gift-giving, cheerfulness, and warmth. Products were presented through display modules, while the store used bright and inviting colors to create a sense of comfort.
Expanding to greater heights
Bread & Butter is rapidly expanding its franchise branches around the region. Last July 2017, it was able to open its 100th store in the Municipality of Banga, Aklan—ahead of its target date of 2018. Its opening marked the region-wide launch of the rebranded store design concept which together with the improved product positioning increased sales by 20% on average. The new packaging also improved Bread & Butter’s visibility. As a result of all these efforts, they were able to receive more franchise inquiries.
